AWC reported a solid no. today, increased the Div and may do an off market Buy Back.
It is a perrenial underperformer but it is starting to look ok.
I still have more work to do on this one but am taking a small position so it is well and truly on the Tradar.

The Best Free info/News for overnight Moves
After trawling through the overwhelming amount of information out there I have come out the other side of information overload and have started to select a few favourite (and Free) Websites to gather enough overnight news to give anyone trading ASX shares a good headstart for the day.
Overnight Market Commentary: briefing.com is the standout for a good overview.
Commodities Moves: reuters.com has all the moves set out clearly.
Technical Analysis: charting.com is a good one stop shop.
If only getting timely free info on the OZ market was so easy. AFR Access is probably the best so far but I am just trialling it for now.
The old adage of less is more has never been more relevant, information overload is the easiest way to achieve trading paralysis. There is always noise out there, as traders our job is to filter that noise and trade through it. ...... I have never had to remind myself of this fact more often than now.
As an aside as I am still getting my trading hat on, there seems to be a lot of positive noise about the Aluminium price around the place. AWC has been a dog and I still have a lot of work to do but I would't be surprised if some real money starts flowing into this name. Definitely a stock worth putting on your tradar.

Starting out on your own, trading from home
It's a scary world out there without your Bloomberg, Reuters or any other expensive toys you have grown used to over the years in the cushy investment banking world. Live prices are easy enough to find courtesy of most brokers but finding live (preferably free) News links of similar quality is another story. For the time being my first major modification was to change my trading horizon from intra day to slightly longer term while I adjusted to my altered view of the market and many disctractions that Freedom has to offer.
Instead of intra day price indicators for trading signals I am refocussing on identifying short to medium term thematics occurring in the market. As they say the trend is your friend and this saying has never been more relevant for me than it is now.
Another challenge of being "alone" for the first time is the SILENCE no yelling and screaming, no big tickets, no pulse to put your finger on. Forums have been a saviour, InvestorWeb and CrazyJimSmith are my top two picks so far, but they all have their day.
I have also found my attention is drifting from the leaders to smaller stocks that have bigger percentage moves, mind you playing around in CFD world negates this leverage somewhat.
As for the sunshine and the distractions that freedom has to offer, I am still working on a cure for that, it is summer after all.........
